A New Era for Alan J.
Inman Enterprises (AJIE)
After 18 years involved with management consulting that has
included experiences with profit and non-profit organizations as well as
private and public entities, AJIE is launching a new era. That is an era that
has seen the company launch substantial connections with international
entities.
In June of this year, AJIE co- sponsored the “South Africa
Alive with Possibility” Branding, Trade, and Investment Mission to the United
States Luncheon in Harlem, NY. The luncheon drew major representatives from the
South African Commerce community led by The National African Federated Chamber
of Commerce and Industry (NAFCOC). NAFCOC, with 220,000 members in South
Africa, is the largest chamber of commerce in South Africa.
AJIE’s relationship was with the host organization that
invited the South African delegation to Harlem and concluded the Luncheon by
signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with NAFCOC. The MOU laid the frame
work through which companies and organizations on both sides of the ocean could
initiate business relations and follow through to fulfill substantial business
relations.
The MOU was witnessed by Congressman Charles Rangel and
Barbara Masekela, Ambassador of the Republic of S.A.
NAFCOC and GTTC commit to facilitate trade missions and
trade fairs where our members will have an opportunity to interact, network,
and explore new markets for their products and merchandise.
Facts about Healthy
Marriage
Research suggests all things being equal; children who grow
up in healthy married, two-parent families do better on a host of outcomes than
those who do not. Further, many social problems affecting children, families, and
communities could be prevented if more children grew up in healthy, married
families.
The transition to parenthood, especially with a first child,
creates a fundamental life change for the couple involved. The transition
requires couples to adapt their relationship and individual roles, improve
their communication skills, and contend with their existing life
responsibilities while assuming responsibility for a child. Expectant couples
are naturally concerned about the well-being of their child, and thus may be
especially open to learning new information; adopting new, positive behaviors;
and improving their marital relations. Although programs generally focus on
married couples, the transition to parenthood is also a moment when both
unmarried and married couples can strengthen their relationship and benefit
from education about healthy marriage.
Benefits of Healthy Marriages: For Children and Youth
Children are:
- More likely
to attend college
- More
likely to succeed academically
- Less
likely to abuse drugs or alcohol
- Emotionally
healthier
- Less
likely to attempt or commit suicide
- Demonstrate
less behavioral problems in school
- Less
likely to be a victim of physical or sexual abuse
Strong, healthy marriages have benefits for couples and
their children. Mismanaged conflict predicts both marital distress and negative
effects for children.

Quote to Live By
Perseverance
When all the world is looming dark
And things seem not so clear,
When shadows seem to hover ‘round
Lord, may I persevere.
When it seems everything’s been tried
And there’s no way to go,
Just let me keep remembering
Sometimes the journey’s slow.
I may just need to stop and rest
Along the path I trod,
A time to try to understand
And have my talk with God.
As I gain new strength to carry on
Without a doubt of fear,
Somehow I know things will be right,
And so, I persevere.
