The Million Acts of Service & Kindness and the Global Peace Festival Campaign
Alan J. Inman Enterprises is asked to support the campaign for “A million Acts of Service and Kindness”
The Global Peace Festival (GPF) promotes and celebrates people and programs that contribute to reconciliation, mutual respect, harmony and cooperation around the world as One Family Under God. In partnership with faith-based organizations, non-governmental organizations, governmental agencies, educational institutions, and the private sector, a Global Peace Festival took place on the National Mall in Washington, DC on August 9, 2008. The Festival was a kick-off to a sustained US campaign in many other cities. A key theme and challenge to those mobilized by the Festival campaign was a call to “A Million Acts of Service and Kindness.” The event was organized by many groups, and led by the Universal Peace Federation. The Points of Light Institute (POLI) was a founding partner and has led the Million Acts efforts, along with its many Kids Care Clubs and Volunteer Centers. Service For Peace works closely with POLI to implement the vision of the Million Acts and has been a strong partner in the US and abroad. But across the world, it is the efforts of unsung individuals who catch the dream and seek to change their communities who really make the difference.
New York, NY
As a result of GPF service projects i.e., Peace Tree planting in Harlem, coalitions were formed between those working with gangs and those working with the parks that would serve as a force to protect the community from negative elements. Young people raised 1400 canned goods during the GPF itself in Flushing, Queens and midtown Manhattan, for the Global Peace Festival’s Million Acts of Service and Kindness food drive. Based on the inspiration drawn from the food "Pantry Drive" during GPF Million Acts, connected churches have launched subsequent holiday food drives

We are grateful to Alan Inman for these follow-up projects.
Alan J. Inman Enterprises visits Africa for a Pan African meeting
Between May 3rd and 8th, SFP President Dr. Charles T. Phillips along with Alan J. Inman of Alan J. Inman Ent. led a team to conduct exploratory research on the feasibility of transporting the Dominican Model School Program to Cote d’Ivoire. Africa Regional Director Mr. Philbert Seka organized meetings with members of the Parliament and local government leaders in the village of Krigambo. The program began with a seminar with SFP representatives from Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana and Sierra Leone reporting on the opportunities for SFP work in their countries. The next day a conference was held in the prestigious Hotel Cote d’Ivoire with the Country Director of United Nations Development Program and the Ambassadors to Cote d’Ivoire from the USA and Israel. The assessment ascertained from this research determined a high level of readiness and viability for holding a Global Peace Maker Program in 2009. In the next month, a date in early July 2009 will be established for a Global Peace Maker Camp inviting participants from Asia, Europe, the Americas and the Middle East. The program also included a demonstration project that recruited villagers to take the lead on desperately needed renovations to the village’s only existing elementary school. Inman is seen mixing cement to recover the school’s floor. He explained that this was one of the ways he worked his way through college while at Temple University in Philadelphia.
